Love and Laptops: Christmas, Charities and Detroit
PC Pickup Giving Back to the Community
It’s easy to find stories of companies being Grinches this time of year, opening early on holidays and doing everything for the almighty dollar. Lawrence Technology Services & PC Pickup decided for this Christmas season, they would ramp up their marketing strategies but in a way that will make your heart grow 10 sizes. One of those strategies: to take 3V Business Solutions’s Holiday Marketing Challenge. The Holiday Marketing Challenge took participants 15 days to complete, participants being small to medium independent businesses. On one of the days, 3V challenged business owners to give back to the community in some way during the holiday season. 3V has been working with the charity Children with Hair Loss as a means of giving back to the community. Most recently, they have been designing and implementing a data collection system. 3V decided this would make a good challenge for other businesses to participate in. PC Pickup not only answered the challenge. They’re giving back two fold.
Walking the Walk
3V suggested Toys for Tots or the Salvation Army as charities since they are associated with the holiday season. Tom Lawrence, owner of PC Pickup, went above and beyond the challenge.
Not only did they become an official drop off for Toys for Tots, they decided to give back in a way that captures the spirit of the company.
Laptop Giveaway
Being a computer store and IT professional, Tom Lawrence understands how important and integral computers have become in our lives. But not everyone can afford one. That’s why he decided to do a Pay-It-Forward Laptop Giveaway.
